Job Overview
This position requires leadership experience in the Energy Services Industry and is responsible for effectively managing industrial construction and maintenance projects safely, on schedule and within budget. The Project Manager identifies safety risks associated with the work and implements precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Fully understand all aspects of project scope
- Develop, manage and monitor project performance to ensure desired results
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Manage project budget and schedule; provide ongoing status reports to all stakeholders
- Manage team members, including project engineers, superintendents and administrative personnel
- Ensure successful project completion as it relates to schedule adherence, budget adherence, and client satisfaction
- Provide regular status reports to clients and Becht Industrial Group personnel
- Identify and suggest new technologies and processes which impact safety, quality and overall project results
- Coordinate resolution of technical challenges and implement changes to achieve desired outcome
- Develop rapport with all levels of management and staff
- Effectively represent the project and Becht Industrial Group in a positive manner
- Participate in job hazard analyses
- Comply with all client and Becht Industrial Group safety procedures and requirements
- Conduct work in a safe and efficient manner
- Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- Must possess one of the following:
- (a) 7+ years industry experience in construction, turnarounds, and craft supervision and (b) a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering, and (c) 3+ years demonstrated project management experience, or
- (a) 10+ years field experience in construction, turnarounds, and craft supervision and (b) 3+ years demonstrated project management experience
- Must possess advanced knowledge of mechanical and piping systems
- Demonstrated ability in building and leading teams to achieve project goals and milestones
- Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks on an ongoing basis
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, field crews, designers and client personnel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation and presentation capabilities
- Strong negotiation skills
- Relentless commitment to teamwork and client satisfaction
- Basic computer competency, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam/Adobe Pro
- Must pass respirator fit test
- Able to work in hazardous industrial environments, particularly refineries and chemical plants
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
