Job Overview
The Accounting/Cost Control is responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and implementing cost-saving measures within our company. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and business operations, as well as excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. As a result of the geographically dispersed nature of the Company and its 24/7 field operations, the person in this position is required to work outside of regular business hours and possible weekends. This is not a remote position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake responsibilities involving both financial and operational accounting functions, collaborating directly with both the accounting manager and the cost control manager.
- Prepare account reconciliations and account analysis on a regular basis.
- Manage daily accounting transactions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Invoicing, and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Review weekly payroll files.
- Perform daily cost control tasks to support field operations, including compiling and distributing weekly reports.
- Handle administrative duties for new projects and ongoing project management.
- Aid in the processing and review of hourly/project payroll.
- Compile and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Assist in periodic closing procedures (monthly, quarterly, and annually), aiding in the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports for each period.
- Work together with various departments to facilitate decision-making processes and create reports that aid in project management and overall business decision-making.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by collecting pertinent data and generating reports.
- Maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferred.
- Education requirement may be waived with demonstrated experience in an accounting role or enrollment in a degree program if it does not conflict with regular business hours.
- Exceptional attention to detail and work ethic.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective handling of multiple tasks simultaneously; able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment; must be a self-starter.
- Possess strong technological skills and demonstrate a keen interest in utilizing technology to its fullest potential.

- Possess/be able to obtain and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), preferred.
