Job Overview
You will be responsible for leading teams in site preparation and construction to achieve project goals and milestones for a mechanical services company in the oil and gas industry. In this position you will effectively resolve technical issues utilizing your mechanical and construction project experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop full understanding of every aspect of the project scope
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and work closely with client and field employees to ensure all projects are completed safely
- Effectively supervise, organize and motivate team members to achieve project goals and milestones
- Review project drawings for constructability and material take-off
- Create project schedule and budget
- Solicit and review vendor and sub-contractor quotes
- Work closely with client contacts and provide timely status updates to all stakeholders
- Proactively and positively represent the company at all times
- Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel (e.g., field crews, management, client personnel)
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment for all team members
- Comply with all Becht Industrial Group and client safety procedures and requirements
- Conduct work in a safe and efficient manner
- Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in construction, turnarounds and craft supervision in the oil and gas industry, especially in refineries and/or chemical plants
- 3+ years’ experience as Site Forman and/or Superintendent
- Craft skills such as concrete/civil, electrical, piping, welding, etc. required
- Proven ability to effectively manage priorities and workflow to meet timelines and achieve project milestones
- Demonstrated and consistent professional judgment and sound decision making
- Advanced knowledge of piping systems
- Ability to operate medium duty equipment such as forklift, scissor lift, man lift, etc.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent leadership, team building and supervisory skills
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation and presentation capabilities
- Relentless commitment to teamwork and client satisfaction
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel and Bluebeam/Adobe Pro
- Extensive travel to domestic client sites is required
- Able to work in hazardous industrial environments, particularly refineries and chemical plants
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
