Job Overview
Responsible for laying out, aligning and fitting together fabricated parts. Responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, including location, quantities, and sizes of materials required for project completion. Identify all tools required for tasks. Identify safety risks associated with the work and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, ISOs, filed installations, material takeoffs and field sketches
- Understand specifications related to the work
- Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld pipe, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld pipe, and stainless steel weld pipe
- Miter and fabricate all pipe
- Operate pneumatic and electric tools
- Leak test tubing systems
- Identify materials and layout on trays
- Manually cut pipe
- Perform basic rigging
- Perform advanced layout as required
- Install valves, trays and strainers
- Participate in job hazard analyses
- Comply with all client and company safety procedures and requirements
- Conduct work in a safe and efficient manner
- Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in industrial construction and maintenance
- NCCER Boilermaker preferred
- Must have knowledge of piping systems and pipefitting
- Advanced blueprint reading skills
- Must possess effective communication skills
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and perform repetitive motions as required for the work tasks
- Must pass respirator fit test
- Able to work in hazardous industrial environments, particularly refineries and chemical plants
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
