Job Overview
Responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, including location, quantities, and sizes of materials required for project completion. Identify all tools required for tasks. Identify safety risks associated with the work and the precautions required to eliminate those risks. Responsible for the timely maintenance and repairs of pressure vessels and process systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Repair and replace trays
- Identify materials and layout on trays
- Install valves, trays and strainers
- Manually cut pipe
- Perform basic rigging
- Perform advanced layout as required
- Participate in job hazard analyses
- Comply with all client and company safety procedures and requirements
- Conduct work in a safe and efficient manner
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in industrial construction and maintenance
- NCCER Boilermaker preferred
- Must have knowledge of towers, columns and exchangers
- Must understand exchanger bundles and have knowledge of pulling process
- Experienced in repairing and replacing boiler tubes
- Experience in flame cutting
- Advanced blueprint reading skills
- Must possess effective communication skills
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and perform repetitive motions as required for the work tasks
- Must pass respirator fit test
- Able to work in hazardous industrial environments, particularly refineries and chemical plants
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
